Banana Patch Cables

flickr by Aud1073cH

"I'm planning on building a little suitcase noise synth. I know that I'll want to start making noise as soon as I finish modules. So in preparation, I've assembled a fist full of cloth-covered banana patch cables. This batch ranges in size from 6in. to 24in."

Update: DIY instructions on instructables here.

  1. These are horrible. They defeat the whole beauty of bananas, namely that they can stack. These can't stack! Get some other cables (Pamona for example).

  2. BTW, I didn't mean to insult the very nice job you did making the cables. They do look great, but the non-stackablity is a serious flaw.

  3. Luckily that's why we have multiples. Calm down dear.

  4. I agree with Michael that stackable bananas are better, and I do have some.

The only reason these aren't stackable was cost.

My methods of procuring the parts and assembling these patch cables myself made it [very much] cheaper to build a few multiples into my noise synth than to buy pre-made stackable cables.
I also wanted a variety of lengths, and the cloth covered style.
