Replacing the Yamaha DX21 Battery

YouTube via Catabolicdj | July 31, 2010

"After 25 years(!), my DX21's internal battery finally died. So of course the battery needed to be changed. It turns out this is a simple 10-minute repair if you can solder/desolder. You need to purchase a CR2032 battery and it has to have solder tabs. I used the Renata CR2032FH-MFR, although other companies make these. The battery was about $1.50 from Mouser.com. I'm making this video available as a public service to all DX21 owners :-) The batteries on these don't last forever although they do last a long time. HD Video available."

  1. Much better to buy a battery socket and a battery, then a battery with legs. Buy 2 or 3 sockets, as you never know when you might need one.
