"incredibly rare Synton Syrinx. Very few were ever produced and it is an absolutely unique and amazing sounding monosynth, due primarily to its unusual but extremely powerful filter section: a low pass and two band pass filters that can be routed in a variety of different ways."

I just read only 20 of these red ones were produced!
ReplyDeletethat's the one from Soma studios in Chicago, run by whatshisname, the guy from Tortoise.
ReplyDeleteI played one with at an AH meet, and was very impressed. What I wonder is why hasn't anyone offered a clone of the filter section? Instead of more kid's toys with crazy names, it would make a module that would be actually useful. Yes, I realize that the original chips are no longer available, but look at what JH did with the MOTM 440.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the offset metal panel on the left side for?
ReplyDeletePitch bend.
ReplyDeleteYou can assign the metal thingy to the filter bands as well for some wacky digeridoo effects.
