Not the best shots, but I was just thinking you don't see these often. I'm curious how many were made. For those new to the OB-12, it was a virtual analog synth by a company named Viscount who mainly made organ synths. They licensed the Oberheim name and made the OB-3 and OB-3 squared organ modules as well as the OB-12. The prototype OB-12 was white. Update: link updated.

I had one and while I sold mine, still run a OB-12 facebook group (for anyone who is interested to join, please do so).
ReplyDeleteWhile the OB-12 is an interesting synth per se and sounds great, there are two things to consider when getting one.
1. The CPU is a bit on the underpowered side. If you enable all 4 parts, eqs and effects, it will become sluggish and it will have latency. If you don't turn everything on, it will work nicely.
2. The screen is seemingly something that is constantly giving people trouble on the forum, and as it happens, no replacement is available.
As I said, I don't own a OB-12 anymore, but there are over 100 users you can talk to at the group, here:

Hi Jesse J, see this post for a screen replacement. Not sure what happened with it and if it still works...
