New Fairlight CMI Will Incorporate an iPod Touch

If you looked at the closely at the keyboard control panel in this post, you would have noticed something a little off. It's an iPod Touch!

via Peter Vogel on Facebook:

"The keypad at the right hand end of the music keyboard is now a general purpose multi-touch controller"

This one in via wheat. Mars caught it in the comments of the previous post.

  1. Pathetic.... 30k for it and they can't even design their own multitouch.....

  2. @pm: why reinvent the wheel? Strikes me as a good idea: a multi-touch surface that can be programmed and updated as required.

And why does everything have to be built from scratch? For example, the original CMI keyboards were made by Fatar, and so are the new ones. Likewise disk drives, midi sockets, flat screens… etc., etc.

So why would their design their own multi-touch surface?
