@pm: why reinvent the wheel? Strikes me as a good idea: a multi-touch surface that can be programmed and updated as required.
And why does everything have to be built from scratch? For example, the original CMI keyboards were made by Fatar, and so are the new ones. Likewise disk drives, midi sockets, flat screens… etc., etc.
So why would their design their own multi-touch surface?
