"Selmer Clavioline testing.
Seems to work fine :)"
"Here for auction is this very rare vintage synthesizer made in the late 50's - early 60's. This was one of the first electronic synthesizers and was quite advanced for its time. For those of you that have never heard of the Clavioline please have a look at this website"
Here we go again, history being rewritten by some idiot on eBay.
ReplyDeleteThe Clavioline is a very primitive instrument, like the Solovox. It makes one waveform and has some fixed filters to mess with that one waveform. There is no attack or decay control, a very simple vibrato effect, and an expression knee lever for volume control.
If the Clav is a "synthesizer", then anything that makes music electronically is a "synthesizer". All electronic organs are "synthesizers", every theremin or noisemaker toy is a "synthesizer". And so the word has no meaning.
