Some light synth talk from TheSynthFreq. Comparisons between the Yamaha DX1 and CZ-5000, followed by Roland D-50. See TheSynthFreq link above for some of her performances previously posted here.

Roland D-50: TVF ( Filter: routings & LFO) Fc 60/res 30

"A review of D-50's TVF and each of the 4 WFs in the LFO. (LFO 2) routed to TRI, SAW , SQU, and RND.
I have the Fc at 60 and the res at 30 for more dramatic effect so its easier to hear what the filter/LFO is doing.
Keep in mind that the recording is from an iPhone 3GS mic.

    Was that a DX-9 or DX-1? My first real synth was a CZ-101 and I loved that little guy - so fun to program! I remember the little book from Casio that explained synthesis...very helpful!

    @ Brain- :) Yes its a lovely DX-9 4 OP FM synth.
    My first synth was a Casio CZ-1000 and I too had a CZ-101 but now have the CZ-5000. Yep, me too, those books were actually good.
    CZs and DXs have very similar sounds and the same Rate/Level setup just different synthesis structures. Long live the CZ and the DXs. :)
