D-50 101: Linear Arithmetic Synthesis explained. by TSF

YouTube via TheSynthFreq | February 20, 2011 |

"Linear Arithmetic synthesis or L/A synthesis is whats behind D-50s awesome sound, here I explain the process of how D-50 works.
These 3 main parts of D-50s awesomeness, is:
PCMs- pulse code modulation (there are 100 of them stored to ROM)
Digitally Generated WaveForms- Saw and Square waves (remember a Saw has even and odd harmonics, a Square has only Odd harmonics)
Subtractive Synthesis- the most basic theories for 'subtracting harmonics' in a structured way'.

More videos to come!
Please enjoy! :)

"Basic description of the 3 elements of sound, (pitch, timbre and amplitude), the requirements for sound to exist (generation, transmission & perception), and how D-50 and it's functions apply to sound design.
Please enjoy! :)
