"Hardware Girls is the new photo collection from the prolific artist / photographer / model / idol Julie Watai. At a crossroads of different influences, she takes the Akihabara otaku world and mixes it with video games, Japanese pop culture and pretty girls. Julie Watai photographs 25 models / idols, each armed with a cult accessory: old games console or other cyber-gadget. The result is a collection of portraits of beautiful, lascivious electro-nymphs."

ReplyDeleteMy eyes focus on the machines first, and it feels right to be so wrong.
ReplyDeleteWe all knew this was Cummings sooner than latter. God I love electronics!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've figured out besides being a photographer she's also professional model Ai Amano, stage named after the manga character Video Girl Ai and in most of her own photos. So she's most? of the "25 models" mentioned. She sings with a chiptune duo act and in an Akiba idol type trio though I've yet to hear anything analog.
