Two pads then shown. 2nd one is a stock pad called "Pulse Pad" with the phaser on it followed by JD's cutoff and res effects. Solo patches for synth horn, pipe, hammond, Wet Bass preset, High-Pass filter pad w/ aftertouch demonstration, "Hydra Poly" patch, Wailing Guitar preset, "Synth Horns '68" patch.
Video made on 3/28/2011. Used a Canon PowerShot to record the video, sorry for any distortion getting through."

"Video #2 of the Roland JD-800 where I go through some more of the great sounds the Roland JD-800 has to offer. These are all sounds from the internet or stock sounds."

Roland JD-800 Demo - Live Pads Piano Strings Organ Bass Leads roland jd 800 test

Uploaded by VisceralVoids on Mar 30, 2011

"This third Roland JD-800 video demonstrates a pad that you can create live using the JD's effects and sliders. I am using a Roland DP-2 footswitch to hold the chord down while I set the JD-800's phaser & delay. Then I go about changing the cutoff and rez, and pitch with the "pitch coarse" knob. JD-800's resonance is in full effect here.
Other sounds in this video include crystal rhodes, strings, piano, PPG sounds, catherdral organ, of course basses and leads. Recorded with a Canon Powershot"

  1. I can't understand why people still post videos like these, with fantastic synths, but with poor quality sound from camera's microphones. It really fails at showing how good and huge a synth like the JD-800 can be.

Come on people, we're musicians, let's care a little bit more about what we put out there, even if it is just a synth demo. One should assume that on the other side, people will likely enjoy if there's a little bit of audio quality. Thanks.

  2. Man, there is nothing less appealing to me than that crappy early '90s digital Roland sound. Gross.
