-Radiohead used it on Exit Music (For a Film) off of the OK Computer album. That awesome fuzzy bass line came right out of this synthesizer!
-CV/Gate outputs to control vintage analog equipment. The only real alternative to this is to buy a midi-to-cv/gate converter that will cost as much as the super bass station, if not more.
-It can do a whole lot more than just make great bass sounds. Although it was marketed specifically for this function, there is nothing preventing it from generating leads, pads, noise, or whatever you can think of!
-It's an analog synthesizer with full midi implementation. "

ReplyDeleteIf this bass station sells for $350, what happens if it doesn't last a year? The owner is stuck paying at least $150 to have it serviced. So this could be a $500 (or more) investment in the long run.
Why buy a discontinued MIDI to CV unit with no warranty when you can get a Moog MP-201 MIDI to CV controller? It's built like a tank, has a two year warranty, can control four separate cv units simultaneously, and has preset programming, all for $449.
folks buying this as strictly a midi to cv/gate converter really bum me out. go buy one of the other options and let people who love synthesizers buy this for the synth! man i wish i could let go of $350 right now, the super bass station is one of the sickest tb 303 clone/sound alike analog synthesizers out there! the midi to cv/gate is just icing on the cake, lovely synth! ACIIIEEED!
ReplyDeleteWell, forget getting a Moog MP-201 now, they've been discontinued: MP-201
