"The CP-40 converts audio signals from microphone or line-level input sources into MIDI signals in real time. Audio information, whether from someone singing or playing electric guitar, is instantaneously converted into MIDI signals. This conveniently allows you to gain control over other MIDI devices- without requiring a MIDI keyboard, or guitar controller. Volume and Pitch changes are also controllable.."
