STRINGSTATION PROJECT on Kickstarter

via Kickstarter where you'll find additional details.

You might remember the StringStation from previous posts here on MATRIXSYNTH. I met creator Jim Bartz at the Pacific Northwest SynthFest. The StringStation is a beautiful instrument and may look like a guitar, but it can also be used as a MIDI controller for your synths. You can find a couple of videos from the event here and here.

"Join In To Build An Innovative Computer Controlled 40-Stringed Instrument...

A string's intrinsic ability to express a more instantly controllable nuance and dynamic of tone is indisputable. This new instrument advances that extraordinary aspect and innovates with combinations of new technology and an interactive control surface that's a joy to play.

The final StringStation designs are exquisite, opening an exploration into music and 3D sound architecture like no other instrument before. Here is a hi-tech instrument of 12 distinct string groups on one play surface, intertwined, digitally tuned and set into 3D resonance control. It allows a spatial interactive array of live strings to be focused and creatively enhanced... crafting scores of exotic 3D sound.

The StringStation is unique to see... but it is genuinely about the sounds it will create. It is my passion to bring the full potential of this amazing 3D music instrument to light..."
