"Up for auction is an extreme rare M&A Electronic Percussion Synthesizer K2. Made in England in 1982 by a British company called M&A. It was part of an electronic drum pad. This module is comparable with a Simmons SDS-8 Drums, but this module has 8 VCO's over 8 different channels, which can be controlled by manual mode or preset mode. Onboard presets are: 1.B-Drum: 2.Snare: 3.Hi-hat: 4.Cym-1: 5.Tom-1: 6.Tom-2: 7.Cym-2: 8.Tom-3. The manual mode has a Pulse, Trigger led, Decay (which also works on the presets), Pad Sens, VCO Sweep, VCO Pitch, Noise, (can be balanced between VCO and Noise ) Noise filter and a Click. Every channel can be balanced and has an independent volume control and a direct output. Speed can also controlled from slow to very fast, manual mode as well preset mode. Also onboard are mix outputs to pan stereo with level, bass and treble control. There is a Micro Sequencer with different patterns. It is not really a sequencer but it has more a demo function. Unfortunately it is defect, but can be fixed easily. For me, it was never important because you can't sync or control it, But every channel can be controlled by an Aux Trigger signal. If you like Kraftwerk you will like this machine (used on the Kraftwerk album Trance Europe Express) and if you tune all channels together by taking off the back panel (power turned off )and adjusting the trim pot’s you can create real heavy monster basses and sounds!"
This is the first M&A post.
