Buchla JRB Chaos Test Patch 01

YouTube Published on Jun 2, 2012 by djangosfire

"A chaotic little test using a few new JRB ModuleModules made by Jason R. Butcher.

In this patch I used the JRB:

- VCRV (Voltage Controlled Reverb)
- VCBM (Voltage Controlled Balanced Modulator)

Main VCO is a Verbos 258v saw wave - sometimes raw, sometimes with reverb, sometimes through the Balanced Modulator (VCBM) w/ the reverb out mixed back into the "reference" input of the VCBM. . . . just getting freakish electronic sounds at this point.

All of the chaotic crazy mixing, panning, swells, timbre, wave shaping, shifts, RM, melody are generated by a 266e. . . the 223e is providing an arpeggiated melody."

"More experimenting using some JRB ModuleModules w/ the Buchla. Jason R. Butcher makes these wonderful blue Buchla compatible modules that work with the Eardrill ModuleModule 041 Chassis.

The 3x blue JRB modules in the video are (from top to bottom):

1 - VCRV (Voltage Controlled Reverb)
2 - VCBM (Voltage Controlled Blanced Modulator)
3 - 2DVS (Dual Voltage Source Joystick Controller)

One unique feature of the 2VDS joystick, is that you can patch external CV into the module, allowing for "button pressing voltage passing" - which I used this feature to pass an LFO to the 262v Harmonic Oscillator.

The main sound is a Verbos 262v into the VCBM, using a 258v as a reference oscillator."
