Pic of the power supply below. These supposedly have the same synth engine as the MC-303. The are pretty limited in programming. I always wondered if they could be edited on a deeper level via MIDI sysex or even MIDI CCs. If anyone knows, feel free to comment. A nice iPad editor could open it up if so. Part of me wanted one for the built in speakers and simplicity of it.
Update via pulseminus in the comments:
"yes, it can be done via sysex..see jjchop.wordpress.com or www.squest.com"
I'm not seeing the option to edit the oscillator wave shapes in either eidtor. They appear to give you access to the same controls on the front panel for remote access while working with your DAW.

ReplyDeleteThanks! I updated the post. It appears the editors only give you access to the limited front panel controls? I'm not seeing oscillator wave shape for example. I was curious if it was possible to edit any parameters not accessible on the front panel, like on a fully editable synth.
DeleteThe parameters included in the editors are very limited, but not exactly the same accessible through the front panel: for example you cannot access effects macro (and therefore selection of additional effects patch) or all effects parameters from eg-101 front panel (https://jjchop.wordpress.com/2012/12/09/roland-eg-101-extended/eg-101_extended/), or you cannot control Attack, Decay etc. for each sound (this regarding roland-eg-101-extended editor), while in Soundquest editor it is possible to set all LFO and some other parameters (even in this case not present in eg-101 front panel, see image in http://www.soundquest.org/Products/MidiQuest11/InstrumentGraphics/RolandEG-101/Patch.png , fieldset on the left 'Controller Select').
