ReplyDeletethat might be the case, but to a vast majority of people who even know anything about chiptunes, SIDs, and 8-bit sound generators, the terms are pretty interchangeable. there's even a sample CD called 8-bit Stylez that is all from the SID, if I'm not mistaken. technicality or not, this thing is straight up called SID, and that's misleading.
