"The Hartmann Neuron was an extremely complex and powerful keyboard synthesizer sold by Hartmann Music from around 2001-2005. Using advanced digital modelling, it could resynthesise sounds with all the complexity of acoustic instruments, giving the player control over physical parameters such as body size and material.
The Neuron was a commercial flop due to its cost and development problems, but more approachable is the Neuron VS, a software version for Windows PC/MAC.
This VST instrument comes with its own USB hardware controller, the Nuke, which acts as a real-time performance controller and as an editor using the supplied Model Maker software.
It won't run under Vista or Windows 7.
