"Limited Edition Moog Minimoog Voyager Anniversary Edition (serial number AE0657) produced only during 2004 to celebrate 50 years of Bob Moog designing electronic musical instruments.
This Minimoog Voyager Anniversary Edition has been upgraded since the time of original purchase with official Moog Music upgrades. These are:
Voyager Version 3.X Upgrade (increases number of user presets to 896)
Filter glide tracking modification (filter cutoff tracks with glide)
After-pressure upgrade (improved after-pressure response)
Cosmetically this UK Anniversary Edition is probably unique as it includes the official Moog Music branding on the rear and a gold coloured 50th anniversary plate on the right hand cheek of the instrument. At the time of purchase, Moog Music did not own the copyright to the Moog Music or Minimoog names in the UK. The Voyager instruments were sold in the UK as "Voyager by Bob Moog" rather than "Moog Minimoog Voyager". All reference to Moog Music or Minimoog was missing from the instrument as originally purchased. To rectify this situation I got in touch with Moog Music in the USA and they kindly sent me the large Moog sticker that belongs on the rear of the lift-up panel and the gold coloured 50th anniversary plate which fits into a recess on the right hand cheek of the instrument. The instrument still retains its original "Voyager by Bob Moog" plate above the keyboard.
UK mains power lead
UK Voyager 'censored' User Manual (blanks out use of words Moog and MiniMoog)
UK 50th anniversary sticker on original backing sheet (was designed to fit in the recess on the right hand cheek of the instrument in the UK in place of the 50th anniversary plate)
Also included with the sale of the instrument are the following additional items:
Official Moog Voyager padded dust cover
Official Gooseneck lamp"
Voyager Anniversary Edition User Manual
Updated Voyager User Manual covering V3.3 Operating System
Addendum for V3.4 Operating System
Minimoog Voyager Sonic Infinity Series tutorial DVD
Moog Music Sonic Infinity promotional DVD
Moog Music 2006 Product Catalogue"
I still have one of these! When I went to the Moog factory back in 2004, an employee heard that we were coming for a tour, and that I had a hand signed Voyager. The lady that was putting the panels on the front leaned over to me and said "You are one of the lucky ones!" It cost me $3000 in that year, and the serial number shows that it was one of the last 25 Bob signed!
ReplyDeleteWhile visiting NC. I brought the Voyager into the factory and Amos personally did the upgrades on it. I also bought the Expansion Module, but never installed it......
Well, that is my story.
