"This was Roland's first synth (and indeed first instrument); it was introduced in 1973. Discrete components and one of the warmest and fattest filters - many compare it to a Moog - make for a great synth that hides its capabilities well beneath its home-organ lookalike exterior. From fat and funky wobbly basslines to squelchy soaring leads via prog-rock floatiness, this synth effortlessly delivers some stunning sounds - as well as a multitude of 'authentic' recreations of acoustic instruments in preset form - and is a joy to play - quality pots and sliders shame today's penny-pinching manufacturing..."
