"This vintage drum machine is certainly the best analog drum machine ever. Only 400 or 500 of them were made. Musicians like Prince, Michael Jackson (on Thriller), Human League, Herbie Hancock and Kraftwerk used the LM1 in their music.
To my knowledge only one LM1 was sold on ebay (worldwide) last year. The vintage / analog synthesizers dealer to whom i have bought it 12 years ago has never see another one in his life. For the record he has checked it a few days ago before i put it on sale on ebay).
The Linn LM-1 Drum Computer was created by Roger Linn and he used samples of acoustic drum sounds. At the time, they sounded great and much more realistic and they were a fresh alternative to the analog drum sounds of the '80's drum machines. Patterns can be created in real or step time. An innovations of the time was the swing and quantize functions that appeared on the LM-1. The LM-1 is an historical synth that has a place in the sound of music from the heart of the '80's."
