QMMG Resonator Patch & QMMG Hooters

"This tutorial video features 2 QMMGs patched as a "resonator" (like those odd silver guitars with names like "dobro" and "tricone"). I play guitar, a synth sequence and (attempt to) sing through it.

In some ways, it isn't quite as precise as the Cwejman RES-4 (a special-purpose module dedicated to resonator-like behavior). But, the QMMGs can be patched in ways the RES-4 simply can't (for example, you can patch in individual feedback amount CVs, for both the high- and low-pass sides of the band-pass-gate/filter with the QMMG patch - you can't do anything even close to that with RES-4 - but then again, most people won't need to).

Enjoy (and it's too bad MakeNoise stopped making QMMGs)!"

"The video shows a somewhat aleatoric performance using feedback from the QMMG Resonator patch with a guitar and a microphone plugged in (via a Doepfer A138M Matrix Mixer), but neither being played or sung through.

I vary the levels of mic and guitar feedback going into the QMMGs by twisting the knobs on the A138M. And I vary the tuned-pitch and feedback amount offsets by twisting the QMMG knobs. I also am using the iTunes visualization of the soundtrack for the kaleidoscope video patterns. And I included footage of some burrowing owls that live around a nearby airport.

Enjoy!"
