Serge Creature X-FADER Demo

Published on May 17, 2013 pjoris2·30 videos

"A quick one about the cross-fader which lets the Creature communicate with the outside world. It's a two in, mono out voltage controlled cross-fader and voltage controlled amplifier. Has a 1/4 inch output jack so you can plug it into a mixing desk without the need for a format jumbler or banana-jack cables.

Used as cross-fader:
(00:20) One input (saw from the TGO) routed to both inputs. Note that the first input is the inverse of the second resulting in cancelling of the signal when equally mixed (F-Fade pot centered)
(00:35) Saw and square outputs of the TGO to In 1 and In 2.
(00:40) Using the CV-in for the cross-fading (VC XFADE). With maximal voltage from the SSG or TGO it doesn't quite reach 100% input 2.
(00:50) Left and right output of TGO ro In 1 and In 2. Including some audio-rate cross-fading.
Used as VCA:
(01:00) Amplitude modulation (AM) of a saw wave from LFO to audio-rates
(01:45) The same for a triangle wave
Some sounds:
(02:00) Random melody with cross-fading of the two outputs of the TGO.
(02:50) Trying carefully some output to input feedback while cross-fading going through the Korg-PME40X analog delays and phaser."
