Yamaha QX-1 midi data sequencer HxC function demo
Published on Jul 22, 2013 TheSynthFreq·199 videos
"Hi everyone! Here is a new video of an amazing device (HxC) used to take the place of the 5 1/4 floppy disk drive of the Yamaha QX-1 sequencer. The Yamaha QX-1 sequencer is about 16lbs, steel construction, full keyboard data entry controls (that make all those lovely vintage key sounds we all love to hear!) , 8 midi outputs, one midi in and one midi thru. Did I mention you can travel back to the 80s with this thing?? hehehe its in the secret menus. :)
Contents: QX-1 FDD construction and design, Common age related problems with the FDD HxC power up and demo of loading procedure (moving through songs) HxC and QX-1 internal interface connections and hardware view
Please enjoy :)
Important:
I'd like to personally thank Dav.R.Bailey for the awesome and wonderful HxC unit and Jim Atwood for his video on the QX-1 and HxC demonstration and technical support with Dav.R.Bailey. Thanks so much to you both for the much appreciated assistance in bringing QX-1 back to life. The install was a success. :)"
