The patents are printed on the top of the unit. I was curious what they might be so I did a quick search at http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/srchnum.htm and found the following for each:
4246823 - Waveshape generator for electronic musical instruments
Abstract
In a wave shape generator of the memory reading type, a waveshape memory stores sample values of a wave each value being represented by an integral address. A coefficient memory stores coefficients for nth order interpolation. Unknown intermediate sample values not stored in the wave shape memory represented by non-integral addresses and are approximated by multiplication of stored sample values of the waveshape and corresponding coefficient values on the basis of nth order interpolation. Use of the interpolation method assures smoothness of the wave shape with respect to time and thereby minimizes quantization noise while permitting use of relatively small memories.

4731835 - Reverberation tone generating apparatus
Abstract
In a reverberation tone generating apparatus a digital memory device is used as a delay element. Amplitude data obtained by sampling an input musical tone at a predetermined period are sequentially stored in the digital memory device. The readout of the amplitude data stored before a desired delay time is equal to the readout of the data regarding the input musical tone delayed the desired delay time. By imparting the desired reverberation characteristics to the delayed amplitude data, reverberation tone of the input musical tone is produced. In a modified embodiment, an input musical tone is divided into a plurality of frequency bands and different reverberation characteristics are added to the divided input musical tones respectively. This utilization of the digital memory as the delay element prevents degrading S/N ratio even if the delay time or the reverberation time is elongated and makes it possible to easily change the reverberation time, thereby enabling to generate a reverberation tone having the same quality as a natural reverberation tone.

4738179 - Musical tone producing device of waveshape memory readout type
Abstract
In a typical musical tone producing device of a full waveshape readout type, a full waveshape of a musical tone to be produced from the start to the end of sounding or a rise portion and a part of the waveshape following the rise portion of the musical tone is stored in a waveshape memory, and the musical tone is formed by reading out the waveshape from the waveform memory once, or reading out the rise portion once and thereafter reading out the partial waveshape repeatedly. A digital filter is introduced following the waveshape memory in this tone producing device. The filter characteristics is determined in accordance with a tone color change parameter such as the key touch or the tone pitch of the musical tone, thereby realizing a tone color change of the musical tone. Further, in order to realize timewise change of tone color of the musical tone, the circuit which has the tone color change parameter vary with time is proposed.

4584921 - Tone waveshape generation device
Abstract
A waveshape memory is divided into memory zones having memory capacities which differ depending upon respective tone pitches or tone ranges. In each memory zone, waveshapes of plural periods having characteristics of the corresponding tone pitch or tone range are stored. The memory zone in the waveshape memory is designated in accordance with the tone pitch or tone range of the tone to be generated. A tone signal is produced by reading out waveshapes of plural periods from the designated memory zone.

4520708 Tone waveshape generation device
Abstract
In a waveshape memory, a first waveshape of plural periods including an attack portion and a second waveshape of plural periods are stored. A tone waveshape signal is produced by reading out the first waveshape once and thereafter reading out the second waveshape repeatedly. The first waveshape is a first section including an attack portion cut off from a desired original tone waveshape. The second waveshape is principally composed of a second specified section succeeding the first specified section cut off from the original tone waveshape. A terminal portion in the second specified section is weighted with decay characteristics and is added with a corresponding terminal portion of the first specified section which has been weighted with attack characteristics, thereby effecting smooth connection between the respective waveshapes.
