"The Korg Poly Six is a six voice programmable synthesizer, originally released by Korg in 1981. It features chord memory and unison voice modes and an arpegiator. It has 32 user modifiable memory presets. Its 4-pole voltage-controlled filter gives the PolySix a warm, rounded and organic sound. Built in effects include Chorus, Phase and Ensemble (using a 'bucket brigade' analog delay line design), to provide a full, fat sound.
The PolySix was considered revolutionary at the time of it's release. "Korg developed the PolySix with an eye on the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 trying to provide some of the features found on the more expensive synth in a compact, reliable and much cheaper design."* The PolySix has been so loved that several software emulations of the Poly Six have been created for PC, Mac OS-X, and iPad. This true analog synthesizer has a warm sound and lots of knobs for real time expression and programming. It has been used by many of the great masters of electronic and progressive rock music..."
