I love my S550.It will die in harness, though hopefully not soon. Re that, I have become paranoid about my 30 yr old floppies finally dying on me. Anyone have pointers to a good floppy-free conversion?
ReplyDeleteAs to capabilities: the mono-timbral demos are a good start, but the S-550 has a bunch of tricks up its sleeve:
1: It can play up to 8 different samples at the same time, on individually set MIDI channels (hence is stackable).
2: it has 8 outputs, each of which can be a mix of any timbres.
3: It has dual-layers with nice velocity cross-over control. Very nice. So nice I have yet tp fid another sampler can reproduce what the S-550 can do.
