Note SN 18281 has NIPPON GAKKI CO, LTD on the back and SN NYO2111 has YAMAHA CORPORATION.
The auction details states one TX81Z is the equivalent of two DX7s. It's not. The TX81Z is scaled down from the DX7 and only has 4 Operators while the DX7 has 6. Still a nice since and is famous for the Lately Bass patch.

Wuddayaknow? These were my TX-81Z's. I'm sorry that I mistakenly thought that each one was the equivalent of 2 DX-7's. I enjoyed using them but decided to use two Yamaha TX-802's in their place instead. These rack units were eventually sold but I used eBay's global shipping program to send them to the buyer, that was a big mistake because apparently they weren't delivered to the buyer's correct address and the global shipper (Pitney Bowes, I believe) wouldn't assist the buyer in finding out where they really went to. It was the first and last time I ever used eBay's global shipping program. I assumed the buyer was being honest with me but don't know about that for sure. Anyways, if anyone out there ever runs across these 2 TX-81Z's (check the serial numbers) it's likely the owner got them by nefarious means because the last I heard they "vanished without a trace" in Melbourne, Australia. Just thought I'd add these "Fun Facts" to this post.
