And the press release (full details on the KDJ-ONE further below):

"CyberStep, Inc. (based in Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce the release of the first promotional videos for their portable Music Studio, the KDJ-ONE. The videos feature interviews with Sid Wilson (DJ Starscream) of the internationally-acclaimed metal band, Slipknot and avid user of the KDJ-ONE during its early testing stages. Watch DJ Starscream create several songs on the fly, demonstrating the device’s wide range of features.

The KDJ-ONE was developed entirely in-house and puts a full studio’s array of tools at a musician’s fingertips. The device’s size and 10 hour battery life make it the perfect solution to a mobile artist’s needs. According to Sid, “something like this allows someone like me or someone who’s just starting out to stay ahead.”

With a commercial release slated for 2015, the KDJ-ONE will be available for pre-purchase on Kickstarter, the #1 crowdfunding site in North America. Early supporters will be able to purchase the device at a discounted price.

The KDJ-ONE is a Digital Audio Workstation made portable. Its combination of a multi-touch screen, velocity-responsive keypad, and jog dial allows for a fluid and intuitive control system unlike that of any existing hardware or software. Whether you need a synthesizer, sequencer, or sampling, the KDJ-ONE has all of the features you could want in a portable package, with a battery that lasts for 10 hours between charging.

Designed for live performances, the KDJ-ONE can be used in tandem with a computer and mic to smoothly weave together an energetic audio experience. When inspiration hits, you can start laying down notes immediately, anytime, anywhere. You’ll even be able to share your music with others by connecting the device to the internet; a track put together in Tokyo could be playing live at a club in New York within hours. Alternatively, you could download a vocal sample and put it to a beat of your own creation, then publish it within minutes. Connecting and coordinating with other like-minded artists is made easy.
