"Up for sale is the FutureRetro 777. Though the 777 is often viewed as a TB-303 emulator, it's capable of much, much more. Though you can get convincing 303 tones by only using one oscillator and keeping the gain/distortion settings clean, the 777 comes into its own when you bring in the second and sub oscillators, start to push the mixer gain, crank the filter overdrive, and switch the filter to 7-pole mode. Add some filter FM from oscillator two, and the 777 sizzles with white hot heat. The resonance is capable of such intense results that there's even a separate control to control how wild it gets. Turned all the way down, it delivers subtle and well-behaved emphasis; turned all the way up, and it'll rip your head off. Beyond traditional bass and lead sounds, you can make lovely clangorous percussive noises by experimenting with oscillator cross modulation. From liquid smooth leads to thundering basses, zappy percussion, and screeching acid sounds, the 777 is a synth to be reckoned with.

Apart from the synth engine, it should be noted that the sequencer on the 777 is a pleasure to use. Of all the analog sequencers I've spent time with (including the FR Revolution and Orb) the implementation on the 777 is my favorite. The chunky buttons and intuitive controls make entering notes a pleasure. That said, you can also play the 777 as a standalone monosynth from a keyboard using MIDI or CV/Gate controls. Unlike other "303-style" synths, the 777 is a bona fide, full-on synth in its own right. Sonically, it can hold its own against pretty much anything else that's out there."
