SH-101 - Dominion 1 - Sub37 Snappy Envelopes

"The purpose of this recording was to compare the envelope snappiness of Roland SH-101, MFB Dominion 1 and Moog Sub 37. In addition, I tweaked the osc waveforms, noise and filters too. SH-101 comes first, then the Dominion 1, and last the Sub 37. No fx was used in most of the recording, only small amount of limiting."

0:00: SH-101
2:15: This is 1 oct lower now.
4:04: Dominion 1
7:25: Going through filter types
9:05: Crackling came from overloading converter while quickly changing filter types.
9:56: Sub 37
10:02: I probably played the Sub 37 1 oct lower than the others while testing the closed envelopes.
13:07: filters: 24 dB, 18 dB, 12 dB, 6 dB

  1. Thanks for posting this. My analogue gear includes the MfB dominion X SED, the Moog Sub-37, the new sequential circuits Prophet 6 and an Arturia Minibrute and I must say that I am NOT a fan of their digital envelopes. Perhaps it is just my age (51) but I much prefer the old analogue envelopes on gear like your SH-101 and my long-lost MS-20!
