" Hi. This is my beloved old Korg mini-700 synth. I bought it secondhand about 30 years ago. This synth was bought by my mate from someone in a Melbourne band (neither of us can remember which band it was, but I've got it feeling it might've been 'The Primitive Calculators'). He also used it in the seminal Melbourne '80s electro outfit The Metronomes. I bought it off him.
I've never gigged with it myself (I'm a singer who dabbles amateurishly with a range of instruments), but it did get used in a Beach Boys tribute band I was in for a while, about 5 years ago (basically for an imitation theremin sound, I think). I haven't even turned it on since then, to tell the truth.
I plugged it in and checked a few things while photographing it. Everything seems fine. Love those sounds."
