"Fender Chroma Polaris (mark I). So, it is quite unique, very clever engineered machine.Soundwise it is on the strong and hard territory, it sound even huge often. It based on solid sounding cem3374 as vco, and cem3372 as vcf with quite harshly and characterfull resonanse. Synth has very flexible architecture, which allows us to get really wide pallete of sounds. It can do all - thick basses, edgy leads, dark evolving pads, wild crazy fx. I know that this was developed by ARP engineers, and it comes to mind that it is some kind of "polyphonic odyssey", but with more harsh and brutal sound. No doubt it is one of the best FX machine ever build, its sound effects just mind blowing. It has MIDI, and one exellent implementation. You can easy drive in realtime all synth parameters by midi CC. Synth has 6 voice polyphony and even 6 part multitimbral, but only one mono audio out. It has freely splittable keyboard with velocity, you can play one sound in left hand and other in the right, or you can layer one sound on another for all keyboard range with 3-voice polyphony.
Synth is fully serviced, the main problem with its membrane buttons successfully solved, it will works for years."
