"Up for auction is a sweet 1970’s Minimoog Model D. Based on the serial number, it was likely built around 1977/78. It comes with an Anvil type case (I believe its factory original). The Minimoog functions perfectly and is in great shape for its age. It was fully serviced a few months ago at Synapse Audio Systems in Portland, where among other things it was fully calibrated, the pots and switches were cleaned, and the buss bar and contacts burnished and treated. Have a good look at the pictures to get a sense of the dings/scuffs on the case. I’ve owned it for roughly 20 years and will be sad to see it go."

  1. I’m a little confused about this Minimoog. Its serial # is sort of close to mine (9127) but it has what appears to be the later oscillator board as indicated by the three vertical rows of adjustment trim pots in the rear. I thought that board began with serial # 10175 as referred in the Minimoog 204D service manuals and your s/n is well below this. Additionally it shows it was assembled at the Buffalo factory. What I’m getting at with all this is that I’ve been trying to pin down the year of my 9127 Mini as all the stickers and tags are gone and all I have to go by is that it has the Williamsville NY stamp on the top and the two row trim pots in the rear. I’m guessing probably sometime late ‘76 or early half of ‘77. I was hoping you could help me get a more accurate dating. Thanks.
