When I bought around 10 years ago it had sat as a "new, open boxed" unit in the back of a music store untouched since the late 80s. As a result it was essentially in new condition when I got it, and I have treated it well ever since. It only has the most minor of cosmetic imperfections, as you can see from the photos.
Functionally everything works great: the synth sounds perfect, all buttons, joystick, sliders and LCD screen work as new. The keys plays great - velocity action is fine, but aftertouch (as with almost all mid-80s Rolands) takes some force to activate. However, the aftertouch is still very playable, unlike most other D-50 I've played.
If you've been looking for a really nice example of a D-50 to relive your teen years in the 1980s, or capture some of those decade-defining L/A patches (Fantasia, Soundtrack, Atmosphere?) then this is the unit to go for."
