via MATRIXSYNTH CLASSIFIEDS

It' a very early example characterized by an unique look and functions like a cream color panel, long Joystick, special randar switches, deep coloured knobs inserts and different Matrix with all the oscillators waveform splitted and some other differences respect a common newer A pulled off from an AKS.
One of the most important feature is the sound ...very warm especially in the VCA section / Reverberation, due the old MK1 cards.
It include all the original Pins set and psu Cable, voltage can be selected from 220 (actually) to 110 volts. It's a genuine old collector chick almost impossible to find especially in these very special conditions."
I discovered my Synthi today after 9 years!
ReplyDeleteI owned this synth from january 1,2011 to october 8,2012.
I compared it with my own detail photo's: recognized it by the serial nr, the scratch under the red 'attack' knob and two scratches leftside on the case just above the synthi logo line.
Here's the history:
Most of its lifetime this Synthi was in The Netherlands: two spouses buying it on a fleemarket in the 80's
in Utrecht/Netherlands.
When i as a drummer was invited with my band to their son's company to rehearse during weekends,
they heard from my mother that i at home played guitars and synthesizers.
Next time we rehearsed on january 1,2011 the father came in with a suitcase, open it and ask me "can you
use this?". It turned out a gift for me, they wanted no money or anything maybe some audio of what i can
do with the synth.
It costed me weeks/months to come "back on earth" with two feet !
I was already into analog synths and it turns out that looking back i owned a ultra rare synthesizer back in
1990: my very first synth was a grey colored Synton Syrinx made here in The Netherlands and i had a nice chat
with founder Felix Visser a few years back, it turns out his very first synth was a EMS synthi (!) in the early 70's wich brought him on the idea wich was leading to the Synton Syrinx.
It was no succes: bringing it very late on the market in 1983 when the DX7 came out and only 250/300 where made.
I still use the audio from this Synthi: before i was selling it i recorded as many sounds and effects possible
for future use. Last week i use audio and photo's from this Synthi on my "Kingdom Melodies on analog synthesizers" video on YouTube (channel name: My Kingdom Melodies).
Greetings from Den Bosch/Netherlands.
Btw, when i got this Synthi all pins where complete: 9 white and 9 yellow, plus the 4 red ones . . .
ReplyDeleteAll the yellow colored ones are gone (?).
Thanks for sharing! It's neat when that happens. One of the reasons I try to capture serial numbers for auction listings. RE the yellow pins, I wouldn't know myself. This was from someone listing it on the classifieds site back in 2015. Maybe the seller will see this post again at some point and leave a reply.
