"The Legendary SH-101 to be found on so many hits over the years. A Boards of Canada favourite: Roygbiv, June 9th...many more. Those resonant 'thwack' sounds that are essential to acid, electro, techno that cannot not easily produced by much else. This is much better than the Sh2 or Sh9 but it is essentially a 'toy' and this can be seen from the plastic housing - a grey wolf in sheeps clothing.The 'arp/sequencer' and the slick controls to adjust LFO, glide etc right next to the pitch/mod stick are key."
