Update: Details are here.

Four mini synths:

CP electric piano.
YC combo organ
CS synth
DX synth

These line up with the
teaser pic here.

Curious if the CS will be a digital emulation or analog. If it's polyphonic, based on the size, it would likely have to be digital, not that there's anything wrong with that. Roland's Aira line was originally ill received by many when it was revealed that they would be digital. They are now pretty much well revered by all. I own an AN1x, Yamaha FS1R, DX-200 and CS60. All are fantastic sounding synths.
We'll have full details tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteHi Mike, Yamaha is a sponsor of the site. You can see their banner on the right. They didn't leak the pics directly to me. That said, leaks can be good as they increase visibility and excitement prior to the official release which should bring more details and demos. It's all part of the fun. A bad leak would be if every single detail and more was released. As for sources, they are always anonymous unless the person requests credit.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't agree with you: there is no official PR about the Yamaha Reface, so take all the juice from the Yamaha Korean fault it's an evidence of opportunist people -this is not a mark of the professional journalism. As you can see, only CDM is publishing also the history, with all the source details. The rest of the Media is awaiting the schedule that the regional Yamaha offices have planned. Thanks.
DeleteA big part of my studio is taken up with a CP 30, a YC 30 and CS 20m. Not sure if I'd give 'em up, both think of the space I'd save! Also, where's the SS 30? Great string machine.
