"A Yamaha CS80 Analog Synthesizer in working condition. I had it diagnosed in July by the renowned Analogue Lab in Long Island City, New York. There's 1 dead voice (of 8) on bank one and 3 dead voices (of 8) on bank 2. The pitch bend ribbon needs to be repaired and all controls need to be cleaned. It could also use a full calibration/tuning to factory spec. Please see the photos. If you need it shipped, I can work with your shipping or freight company or deliver it myself to NY, NJ, or CT. Weighs about 240 pounds and has 4 wheels on the bottom. The electronics are under the control panel. When you lift up the panel, the long support screws to hold it up are missing. Thank you, Matt"

  1. it has dead voices, the ribbon needs to be repaired - it should be listed as not working (according to eBay's definition), and for $17k that stuff better be fixed before any money trades hands!

  2. Yep. I think a lot of synths listed like this are picked up by dealers/techs who refurbish them and then sell it fixed at a higher price. You'll see that happen often. The price is too high imo, but some dealers are willing to just list and wait, or they might pick it up to fix other units. The saddest thing I've seen a few times are people that will part out fully functioning synths because they make more that way vs. selling it complete. It's conceptually frustrating but what can you do. In the end I guess the parts go to fix multiple synths vs. just the one that was parted out.
