Modular Dub1 - a 128BPM Eurorack modular synthesizer patch.

Published on May 20, 2016 Luke Killen

"I've decided to play some dubbed modular music fro an upcoming gig so for the next little while i'll be making videops that follow suit.

Patch notes.
Subb bass: Mutable instruments Braids in Fold mode running throughg a Doepfer A-106-5 SEM. Channel 1 of a Makenoise Maths provides an envelope for the Filter cuttoff and the CV for one channel of a Intellijel Linix.

Chords: Noise from a Steady State Fate Ultra-Random Analog, filtered through a RYO Aperture in 'both' mode with a very high resonance (just short of self oscillation). This is used as the input for a Mutable Instruments Rings for excitation. The CV of the Aperture is modulated by the quantised output of a Make noise Rene that is also multed to the 1v/oct of the rings as well as being sent via an attenuator to shift a Intellijel uScale 2 which is also receiving an arpeggio from an Abstrct Data ADE32.

The uScale 2 is feeding the 1v/Oct of the sub bass and the timbre without the shift.

Melodic Tinkle:
Whimsical Raps Mangrove, has pitch modulated by Channel 1 of a Tiptop Z8000 sequencer, 'Air modualed by Channel B of the Ultra-Random Analog and 'barrel' modulated by an attenuverted channel one of the make Noise Maths. This is filtered through an intellijel uVCF in Band pass mode with High Q and Frequency cutoff modulated by channel 1 of a 4ms PEG. The PEG's ENV output is also modulating the CV ot the opto integrator which it providing aplitude CV for the occasional sine tone that appears here ansthere through the patch.
Sin Tone: Sin tone is the sIN out of a WMD/SSF Spectrum that is fed to a Intellijel LiniX where a gate from a Delphtronics Trigger man is being smoothed by the Ultra random's Opto integrator.

Ticks:
Final output from a Make noise DPO with it's 'angle' modulated by a a Frequency Centrl Wave runner, Feeds a WMD/SSF Pole-Zero driven hard and having it's frequency cutoff negatively by channel 2 of a 4ms PEG whose EOF is triggering channel 4 of a z8000 Sequencer.

Kick: Mutable instruments Peaks in expert drum mode. three patterns are available via manual switching of a Low-gain short bus.

Snare: Noise Engineering Basumilus Iteratus with some decay modulation from channel three of Tiptop z8000 is passed to a Intellijel uVCA where it is also dynamically controlled by channel three of the Z8000.

Reverb and delay is controlled via a Novation Zero SL MKii and is applied live via my DAW. Some Compression and EQ is also applied for channels that need it."
