A Trip for Johnny - Yamaha Montage, JU-06, JX-03, JP-08, DSI Mopho SE, Minilogue,

"This was a much more complex arrangement than I've done recently. Still working on sync issues, as you will no doubt here a few problems there, but at some point you just have to upload it and move on.... LOL. Here's what's going on: The Beatstep Pro is the master clock. It is sending clock to the TR8, and a simple drum sequence to the Simmons SDS8. MDI through from the TR8 to the Minilogue, then on to the Montage. Minilogue is playing an internal sequence in the Arpeggio Random 3 mode which does some really cool stuff with poly chords. The Montage is playing a split-keyboard patch (Sentimental Boy) with a nice little arpeggio on the left hand and a smooth lead on the right. The DSI Mopho I use for a lead that reminds me of a Dennis DeYoung thing, or prog rock lead type patch. Really liking that one. The Ensoniq EPS16+ is on it's own, so I just manually start and stop it and it's running free, but in the same tempo (70 bpm) as the Beatstep Pro. I need more cables and a thru box to be able to get that synced up with everything via MIDI clock. But it worked here. The EPS is playing the Roland JX-03 for a bass line, and there are two different sequenced bass lines. The JU-06 and JP-08 are playing a layered pad/lead sound that is just played live. The Minilogue and DSI are running through the Roland RE-301 for the delay, the Boutiques and Montage are using their internal FX. There is a touch of stereo processing from Valhalla Ubermod in Ableton. There. That's it. LOL"
