Qu Bit Chord Disintegration Jam # a million

Published on Nov 26, 2016 Nick Jackson

"Another redundant 'disintegration jam' based around the Qu-Bit Chord being mangled and destroyed by filters, distortion, and reverb. I actually have quite a bit of fun doing these, because as you may have been able to infer, I really enjoy distorted lo-fi ambient tones.

The patch is very simple..Chord into Ripples into Clouds, with Tides modulating the inversion of the Chord, creating a sort of faux melody. The textural magic really happens when I run the mix out through my guitar pedalboard. There, I have engaged a Smallsound/Bigsound Fuck Overdrive, ZVex Instant Lo-fi Junky, and Strymon BlueSky reverb. I've found the conjunction of these pedals to be a sort of lo-fi ambient 'secret sauce'. (not very secret though, is it)

I know this sound isn't for everyone, you may even 'dislike' it as people have done on my previous videos, but I kind of dig it and hope there's some people out there who will dig it as well. As always, thanks for listening! :)"
