"Introducing... the most exciting performance-oriented digital synthesizer in the world

Here at last is your dream machine... a musical instrument uniquely your own... one that whets your artistic appetite to create and play all the colorful sounds of the spectrum.

Our revolutionary new PRISM is a performance-oriented digital synthesizer designed with you, the artist, in mind. It offers you both a basic library of pre-programmed sounds and push-button capability for creating, recording, storing, and recalling a universe of your own sounds.

The ultimate musical instrument, the PRISM is completely digital, poly-phonic, and programmable. Never be-fore has so much capability been offered in one compact musical pack-age. You'll find all the features you'd expect of a digital synthesizer plus a wealth of unique new ones.

You don't have to be a computer programmer to build and play beautiful crystalline sound. You expand your knowledge and professional use of this instrument while you are playing it! Because it is organized into multi-levels of creative development, the PRISM allows you to immediately create ensembles, instruments, wave forms, and device configurations. Each of these are developed, changed, and stored in the PRISM's solid-state memory with push-button ease. Record, play back, mix, and edit your created sounds with the PR ISM's flexible 8-track, 8,000-note sequencer.

Organized into multi-levels of creative development, the PRISM allows you to create instruments, waveforms, ensem-bles, and device configurations. Each of these can he individually developed, changed, and stored in the PR1SM's memory with push-button ease. The PRISM's live performance controls give you immediate access to prepro-grammed and created ensembles. Each time you recall an ensemble, it brings in eight different instrument sounds with their own waveforms and a device con-figuration as well. Instrument sounds within an ensemble can be switched on and off as you play.

The PRISM exclusively offers you:

Six Synthesis Modes: Produce an astounding array of different sounds never before included in one instrument. With the PRISM, you choose from waveshaping, wave blending, or frequency modulation, each either controlled by volume envelope or device.

Dynamic Timbre: Create living, natural sound. Because all six synthesis modes of the PRISM make use of dynamic timbre, you can define exactly how the sound changes during the course of a single note.

Multiple Wave Creation Techniques: Three separate tools form your fundamental sonic building blocks. These prismatic wave-producing techniques include: Additive/Subtractive, Plot, and Frequency Modulation (FM).

Colorful Sound Generation: Four unique envelopes - Volume, Timbre, Pitch, and Channel - give you complete control over sound generation, its intensity, color, frequency, and location.

Monophonic Or Polyphonic Portamento: With the PRISM, you can slide single notes or whole chords in any direction at adjustable rates.

Precise Pitch Adjustment: Uniquely, the PRISM is always in tune. You can, however, control pitch and de-tuning with two finely adjustable forms of pitch modification - Micro-tone and Delta-hertz.

Random Sound Modification: Achieve both highly natural and unusual effects by using the PRISM's four Random Number Generators. These automatic devices flexibly operate in much the same way as random sample-and-hold.

Continuous Sound Modification: Produce such regular, consistent tonal textures as vibrato and tremolo with the PRISM's four Low Frequency Oscillators. These digital oscillators follow one of four wave shapes - sine, triangle, ramp, or square.

Accessible Sound Library: Instantly recall any of 64 sounds. The push of a button saves your newly created sounds and effect directly in from the console. With the PRISM, you immediately have easy recall access to all pre-programmed and created sounds. Bubble memory provides true portability. Your sounds are preserved without a disk drive or battery backup for the memory.

Two Special Playing Modes: With the PRISM, you vary your mood or playing style as simply as pushing the Latch Mode or Solo Mode button. Everything from polyphonic choral and sustained background effects to monophonic trills is easily available.

Instant Sound Cutoff: Control lingering sound immediately with the PRISM's Sound Cutoff Footswitch. When the music stops, so does the PRISM.

Quadraphonic: Choose mono, stereo, or full quad sound. A switching matrix on the PRISM makes it easy. Music can actually bounce around a room when you place your sound in any or all four speaker channels and change their location during performance.

Polyphonic: Play many instruments simultaneously. The basic PRISM is equipped with 24 voices and is expandable to 40. One voice produces the sound of one instrument each time a note is played.

Flexible Keyboard Split: Place totally different sounds any place on the keyboards. Move them around at will. It's as easy as pressing two keys. Lights over individual keys indicate the precise location you've given each sound.

Fully Programmable Devices: Customize the PRISM to your own style of playing. You can connect a pedal, footswitch, slider, thumbwheel, or joystick to parameters you want to change in real time. These programmable devices help you vary the music's color or feel during performance.

Remote Keyboards and Pedal-boards: Imagine a setup with six keyboards and three pedalboards, in addition to your main console, being played by ten different musicians all at the same time! It's possible with the PRISM. Optional accessories include five-octave (61-note) keyboards and one-octave (13-note) pedal boards fully compatible with your main instrument.

Unbounded Freedom and Flexibility: The PRISM is completely digital, polyphonic, and programmable.

Fast, Accurate Communication: The PRISM provides an easily operated keypad as a link between you and the entire control panel. It's as simple as using a calculator.

Dependable Roadability: Rugged shock-absorbent flight cases protect both the PRISM's electronic enclosure and console when traveling. The custom console case is option"

  1. LOL "Never be-fore has so much capability been offered in one compact musical pack-age."...
I am working on one of only 2 Prisms ever made as I type this... There is nothing compact about it. The console is huge and very heavy and the rest of the synth resides in a large road case full of the electronics. Stay tuned, I still have hope for it and its Bubble memory.
