The 90s - an melodic IDM patch from the past for eurorack modular synthesiser

"This is my first patch video for 2017. I wanted to make something which was about time. In the 90s for me, this kind of sound was exciting and fresh. It was a time where established electronic music was changing and looking both to the future and the past. I still love it where the melodic meets the textural and mildly abstract."

  1. Nice work Luke. I completely agree with your assessment on IDM type music. I love it, especially when it doesn't ignore the melodic component. I find it difficult to merge the two sometimes. I like to go the Autechre route but keeping it melodic is sometimes difficult to resolve against the more chaotic sonic or rythmatic elements. I guess that's half the fun. Also, I love the crazy stuff but find it challenging to listen to for long strides. Balance is beautiful. Cheers!
