3) Trouble Analysis Guide

(TROUBLE SHOOTING)

"Malfunction" and "Probable Cause & Cure" are given for:

Unit Dead (no pilot light)
Unit Dead (pilot light on; overload light off)
Unit Dead (pilot light & overload light on)
Excessive HUM & constant modulation of all signals
No output from any mixer source (A-440 works)
No oscillator output
Various oscillator problems: (drift, poor tracking, waveform difficulties etc)
Noise source dead or poor quality
Input dead
Filter problems
Excessive drift or pitch change after key is released
Loudness &/or filter contour generator problems
No output at phone jack
Overload light problems
Thumping sound
Keyboard glides when glide is off
Unit cannot be tuned
Noise or static when turning a control

4) Adjustment Procedures & Locations

Each time the Minimoog is serviced, it should be tuned. When a board has been replaced it will be necessary to make additional adjustments. A table is given to determine which adjustments must be made according to the board that has been replaced. The titles: "WHEN REPLACING" and "MAKE THESE ADJUSTMENTS" are used in the table for:
