Lyra-8 by SOMA synths - First Impressions

"Warning: audio track of this video contains very rich harmonic content. It makes no sense to listen to this without good speakers or good headphones. If you are using headphones, please be very careful about the volume level and expect everything to get even worse for your ears towards the end of the video.

These are my very first moments with the one and only Lyra-8 by SOMA synths. Although I am very far from only lightly mastering this mighty instrument, I have to say it's absolutely awesome and incredibly inspiring synth and I am totally woved by the sounds Lyra produces.

For the one interested in logistic details, I got on the waiting list in August last year, so I waited 13 months for my Lyra. My unit was assembled in Poland and I have to say the quality of their is absolutely impeccable and absolutely professional.

Regarding this short video, Lyra-8 plays together with Polivoks Pro (modern reissue of classic Soviet synthesizer). This was of course the must first thing to put these two synths together. Both synths are processed through Strymon Big Sky for reverb. I didn't plan any filming and recording tonight, so camera is my cell phone only. Sound is stereo output from my Motu interface into Ableton Live. Video was edited in Final Cut.

Enjoy and mind your ears ;)"
