Poly Evolver Keyboard: Sliding Brass

Published on Jan 26, 2018 Sacred Synthesis

"This piece uses a somewhat strange sound. It's a brass patch that just barely qualifies because it uses only minimal envelope controlled modulation of the filter. In addition, I've added glide/portamento, which has quite a mind of its own. DSI glide is unique and often difficult to control, but at times it sounds very effective. On this piece, I think it's a bit overdone, but that's what these improvisations are for - testing ideas. Which means, sometimes stepping back and realizing, uh...that didn't work at all.

On the other hand, this piece gives some sense of the massiveness of the Poly Evolver character and musical power. It is a joy to play this superb synthesizer because the sonic satisfaction is always high.
