Roland JD-XA Sound Demo

Published on Jan 29, 2018 Stochastic Design

"In this video, we show a few patches we've created, and use the onboard sequencer for riffs associated with the sounds. Just a first look, nothing too remarkable. Let us know in the comments if you would like to see more in-depth sound design on this red beast!

The JD-XA has been described both as the spiritual successor to the JD-800, and a sound designer's dream.

The physical design and the way some features have been implemented seems to have prevented it from being universally praised, but the sonic capabilities of the hybrid analogue/digital synth engine are interesting."
