"This Synthi A is Mk2 dating from the late 70s or early 80s and was previously owned by an educational establishment who etched their details onto the face in three places. There is a small piece missing from one of the vernier dials - this does not affect operation. It has been very well converted to an IEC socket and runs at 220v.
It has a full complement of original matrix pins, which are working, but a new set from EMS (at £250) might improve reliability. There is a VCO stabilisation modification that can be carried out if required, but the previous owner preferred to leave the instrument as original as possible. While it has been serviced and cleaned, this is a 40-year-old instrument and some crackle should be expected when pots are moved if its not been used for a while.
In excellent working order following a recent service by an experienced EMS engineer including:
>Strip-down of panels & Spartanite case.
>Spartanite case deep-cleaned, re-finished & all hardware cleaned.
>Control Panels deep-cleaned.
>Every control component (potentiometers/switches/matrix panel), cleaned & lubricated
>Power-Supply re-capped & calibrated.
>Full system-wide calibration & soak-test.
CONDITION: The overall condition of this unit is excellent, aside from the three areas of etching on the face. The rest of the face is very clean with minimal scratching. The case is also excellent with the usual minor scuffing and some wording faintly imprinted on the front. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition."
