Casio MT-45, M-10 & VL-1 Casiotone improvisation/performance

Published on Jul 8, 2018 DreamsOfWires

"Casio MT45, M10 & VL1 improvised, recorded in real-time without overdubs. This was only supposed to be the demo recording, but my VL-1 just blew a gasket... or something. In the meantime, here's the initial session, which wasn't filmed, unfortunately, but I still quite like it anyway. It's based on a compostion I recorded 10 years ago using software simulations of big, expensive polysynths.
I acquired these 3 keyboards for pocket money a while back, and I'm quite fond of their sound character. I also get a kick out of creating something I like with cheap gear that many people would turn their nose up at.

Finer details:
MT-45: Initial drone and 2nd organ sound.
VL-1: Melody line (custom 'ADSR' sound).
M-10: 1st organ and flute sound.
Recorded in AUM on an iPad over 3 channels with Audio Damage EOS2 reverb.
Video is a flight home from Frankfurt, Germany to Heathrow, UK... I think. Filmed on an iPhone SE."
